Night Walk
“Night Walk” presents a full-length figure set against a peach-toned acrylic base, where the warm surface acts as both ground and atmosphere. The composition places the dark figure in a balanced stance, with one leg crossed and the body leaning into the supporting leg, creating a natural shift of weight and form.
A lifted piece of dark drapery moves across the foreground, introducing visible motion within the still image. The fabric creates layers within the composition, partially obscuring the figure while also framing her presence.
She faces the viewer, yet her eyes are closed and head turned aside, placing her in a state of ease and internal focus. The combination of exposed form and layered fabric continues the exploration within this series, examining vulnerability, the desire to be seen, and the simultaneous instinct to conceal. The works consider proximity and distance, and the complexity of encountering someone fully while never entirely accessing them.
The title Night Walk reflects the idea of moving through darker periods while searching for direction, suggesting the act of navigating shadows and gradually finding a way forward.
